President of Algeria calls for development of relations between Algeria and Iraq

President of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika called relations of cooperation linking Algeria and Iraq "privileged".

Referring to Radio of Iraq, a RIA Novosti correspondent quotes Bouteflika as saying this when receiving Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Naji Sabri on Sunday.

The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs is staying in Algeria on an official visit at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart.

During the meeting the president of Algeria stressed that both sides must make fuller use of the capital they have for developing relations, especially in the interests of economic integration.

For his part, Naji Sabri informed the head of the Algerian state in detail about Iraq's position and about the latest development of relations between the Iraqi leadership and the United Nations, in particular, about the course of his dialogue with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
