China Intends to Take an Active Part in St. Petersburg's 300th Anniversary Celebrations

China intends to take an active part in St. Petersburg's 300th anniversary celebrations. Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji announced this today in a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov. The heads of government decided to create a sub-commission on cooperation in the sphere of tourism, and also to form a working group on cooperation in the cinema and mass media industries. The two sides also agreed to speed up work on an intergovernmental agreement on a joint institute of cultural centres, and also to hold cultural festivals in each country on a regular basis.
