Teenage suicide bomber killed 2 Israeli policemen

Two Israeli border policemen were killed and 17 other people wounded when a teenage Palestinian suicide bomber blew herself up at a police checkpoint next to several bus stops in Jerusalem.

One died instantly at the scene of the &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/war/2003/04/09/45846.html' target=_blank>blast near the French Hill district in the east of the city when the woman detonated some four kilos (nine pounds) of explosives she had hidden in a bag, police spokesman Gil Kleiman told AFP. His colleague died shortly afterwards of his injuries in hospital, says Channel News Asia. Dressed in black and wearing a traditional &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/365/11845_Muslims.html' target=_blank>Muslim headscarf, the 18-year-old woman approached a security position near a hitch-hiking post used mostly by soldiers and detonated a bomb she was carrying hidden in a bag, police and witnesses said on Wednesday.

"She threw her head back and then there was an &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/accidents/21/96/382/13532_Kemer.html' target=_blank>explosion," one witness, Debbie Segal, told Army Radio. "A few seconds later, her body burst into flames."
