Vladimir Putin Reaffirms Russia's Position On A Future Political System Of Afghanistan

Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed Russia's position on a future political structure of Afghanistan. "Things should take the course towards forming, under the United Nations' aegis, organs of power with broad representation of all political and ethnic groups of Afghanistan", the president said on Thursday at a meeting with members of the international committees of both the chambers of Russian parliament. Russia and the United States have "likewise approaches" to resolving the problem of a future political system of Afghanistan, stressed Vladimir Putin. At his talks with the American president it was specially stressed that "representatives of the United Front must play one of the key roles in the negotiating process aimed at creating new power structures in Afghanistan".

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
