Possibilities to fulfill Road Map exist

At present the quartet of international mediators in the Middle East settlement are taking efforts to "boost the fulfillment of the plan for Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the so-called Road Map," said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov on Friday.

"We believe that there is an opportunity to start fulfilling the Road Map in reality. The most important is not to miss this opportunity, but to use it as soon as possible," he pointed out. "This will positively influence the situation in the Middle East in general," according to Saltanov.

When answering the question of a RIA Novosti correspondent, the deputy minister said that Israel had "a certain anxiety about the Road Map". "Yet it does not mean that Israel rejects this document," he emphasized. The contacts with the Israeli party are continuing and are efficient, he added.

When speaking on a possible meeting of the quartet, Saltanov said that at present "different variants of such a meeting are being discussed."
