First stage of Russian-Chinese space contract fulfilled

The first stage of a contract between a Krasnoyarsk space-satellite enterprise and China's northwest R&D institute of electronic equipment (Xiang city) has now been successfully implemented.

Acting on Chinese orders, Siberian experts designed and developed a working model of a device for rotating satellite antennas.

This was disclosed to RIA Novosti today at the press center of the Zheleznogorsk (Central Russia) science-and-production applied mechanics association named after Academician Mikhail Reshetnikov. This enterprise assembles nearly 70 percent of all Russian multi-purpose satellites.

The aforesaid Russian-Chinese contract for developing the antenna-rotation unit, which was inked in January 2003, is now being implemented rather successfully, Li Zhishang, chief of a Chinese expert delegation, who is now staying in Zheleznogorsk, noted.
