Following Kremlin negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin told journalists that the global situation and Franco-Russian trade-economic co-operation had been the focus of attention. According to him, cooperation in the space and aeronautics sphere came under the spotlight, which, in the French premier's opinion, could lead to positive results in bilateral relations, as well as ties between Russia and Europe. Moreover, in addition to trade and economic questions, co-operation in the energy sphere was also considered, while possible fluctuations in oil prices and the problem of Russian debts were also touched upon.
