Kaloyev copes with hardships

Vitaly Kaloyev has been coping with hardships that befell him, according to Taimuraz Mamsurov, Parliament Speaker of North Ossetia (North Caucasus).

"I saw a courageous man, who endures hardships with dignity," Mr Mamsurov told RIA Novosti on the phone after meeting Mr Kaloyev.

Russian national Vitaly Kaloyev is suspected of murdering an air traffic controller of the Swiss Skyguide service. Mr Kaloyev's wife and two children were killed when their aircraft collided in mid air with a Boeing in 2002.

Mr Kaloyev came to Switzerland about a month ago and, as local law enforcers claim, killed the air traffic controller, who is blamed for the accident.

Mr Mamsurov said all Swiss officials dealing with the Kaloyev case admitted that Russia was for the first time so fiercely protecting the interests of one Russian national abroad.

Mr Mamsurov is flying back to North Ossetia on Thursday.

He announced his intention to create a news service called "Pravda," which means "truth" in Russian. Well, we are Pravda. The Pravda.Ru website has been working professionally in Russia since 1999
