Amir Of Qatar Arrives In Moscow On Historic Visit

Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, arrived in Moscow on Monday for a two-day official visit. His plane touched down at the capital's Sheremetyevo-1 airport. This is the first time in the history of bilateral relations that a Qatar amir has made an official visit to Russia. The sheikh was met at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov. The presidential press service has told RIA Novosti that Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Sheikh Hamad on December 25th. The Amir of Qatar will also meet speaker of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov and State Duma speaker Gennady Seleznyov.
