Emissaries Of New Kabul Authorities To Visit Arab Capitals

Personal representatives of head of the interim Afghan government Hamid Karzai will visit Arab capitals, any time soon, the United Arab Emirates al-Khalij newspaper wrote on Monday. It reported that the forthcoming negotiations of the Kabul emissaries are aimed at re-establishing diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and the Arab states and their participation in restoring the country. Karzai's envoys should also shatter the apprehensions of the local leaders in connection with the anti-Arab sentiments of the Afghan people, caused by the fact that militants, who come from those countries, fought on the side of the Taliban movement. Two Arab states -- Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates -- maintained relations with the Taliban government and severed them on October 25 and 22 respectively. The Arab countries do not hurry to recognize the new authorities in Afghanistan. Only the United Arab Emirates sent their representative (ambassador to Pakistan) to the ceremony of transferring power to a new government in Kabul. Several Arab countries press for, with the help of Islamabad, the extradition of their citizens, taken prisoner on the territory of Afghanistan. Leader of the Libyan revolution Muammar Qadhafi advanced an initiative coordinated with the UN secretary general and the Arab capitals which provides for the creation of a special camp for the Arab prisoners under the aegis of the UN, and then their deportation to their respective countries. Those who participated in the acts of terror and perpetrated military crimes should be tried .
