The military from 16 countries are due to discuss in London on Friday the formation of the International Security Forces in Afghanistan (ISEF), said a British Defence Ministry spokesman on Thursday. According to him, the issues to be discussed at this meeting deal with the strength of each ISEF country's grouping, the timing of their deployment in Afghanistan, and logistics support. An official statement on the decisions made in London may be announced later on Friday or on Saturday, the Defence Ministry spokesman said. Geoffrey Hoon reported earlier that the ISEF will be manned "by several thousand soldiers from various countries." The UN Security Council sanctioned the ISEF mission in Afghanistan and Britain's leading role therein.
