Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi held negotiations in the Kremlin on Thursday, which lasted four hours. The Kremlin's deputy chief of staff, Sergei Prikhodko, told reporters after the talks the two leaders discussed "the situation in and around Afghanistan and collated their appraisals of the situation and the prospects of the international community's cooperation on involvement in the anti-terrorist operation."
