Russian Foreign Minister's Talks With Qatar's Counterpart

Russian and Qatar's Foreign Ministers' talks will focus on the struggle against international terrorism, the situation in the Middle East and the Iraqi settlement, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said on Tuesday opening the meeting with his Qatar's counterpart Sheikh Hamid bin Jabir al-Thani. Moscow is satisfied with the development of political dialogue with Qatar and with Doha's presiding over the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Igor Ivanov stressed. According to him, on December 19th the Russian society of friendship, business and cultural links with Qatar was established in order to show Russia's interest in the development of relations with this country. Speaking about bilateral relations, Igor Ivanov said that it was necessary to focus on the development of trade and economic links in connection with the activation of the political dialogue.
