Moscow Ready to Develop Pragmatic & Mutually Beneficial Dialogue with Romania

Russia is ready to hold a dialogue with Romania, based on pragmatism and consideration of mutual interests, said the Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokesman Alexander Yakovenko in an interview with RIA Novosti ahead of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov's visit to Romania scheduled for March 27-29.

The forthcoming talks will analyse the process of fulfilling the current agreements, he said. The parties are also expected to define the outlook for their further co-operation in different areas.

During the visit, the Russian party intends to announce its principal positions concerning international security, strategic stability and counteracting terrorism and extremism, the spokesman added.

Moscow is "satisfied with the completion of work on co-ordinating the text of the agreement", he emphasised. "The signing of the agreement on friendly relations and co-operation between Russia and Romania will open new prospects for the countries' interaction," the Russian party believes.
