Foreign Tourists Continue to Travel to Jamaica Despite Drug Violence

Tourism in Jamaica continues to flourish despite drug-fueled violence that is ravaging the island nation's capital city, officials told.

John Lynch, director of the Jamaican Tourism Board, said the violence that has left as many as 30 dead in Kingston had "not yet" affected bookings in the country's four main resort areas: Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios and Port Antonio, FOXNews informs.

Police reportedly came under fire in parts of West Kingston on Sunday, and a police station was set ablaze after being abandoned by besieged officers who had run out of ammunition.

In response, Mr. Golding declared a month-long state of emergency in parts of the capital and outlying St. Andrew, media reports from the Caribbean island said, The Hindu reports.
