London City Lord Mayor: Great Britain steadily becoming Russia's largest investor

"The London City is convinced that while continuing to carry out the initiated package of reforms and pursuing the current policy, Russia will not only be able to preserve, but deepen investors' confidence, especially in the medium and small business sector," he pointed out.

The Lord Mayor expressed hope that the policy to reduce the dependence on oil sales recently formulated in the Russian President's State of the Union Address to the Federation Council will give rise to revitalisation of Russia's banking and entrepreneurial sectors.

He also assured the Russian Head of State "that Great Britain greatly supported Russia's joining the WTO." "The British trade and industrial sector is looking forward to this event," Gavyn Arthur stated.
