Iraqi security forces to be trained in Slovakia

Sixteen Iraqi military policemen and two interpreters will be trained in Slovakia after the country's parliament approved a cabinet proposal of a nine weeks' training programme, with a total cost of 78,000 euros to be covered by the Slovak defence ministry.

Slovakia also trains Iraqi security forces in Iraq as well as at training camps in Jordan. In the same session parliament approved the posting of Slovakian military officials in NATO and European Union bodies.

Slovakia's defence and security strategies were also discussed with terrorism identified as one of the core global threats to Slovakia, the AKI reports.
