Russian President Spoke To German Chancellor On Telephone

In the late hours of Thursday, the German side arranged a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. According to the press service of the Russian President, the conversation between the two leaders was "a regular consultation on the developments in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation and the prospects for the post-conflict settlement in Afghanistan." Gerhard Schroeder informed Vladimir Putin about his future contacts with the parties concerned. The Kremlin press service stressed that the Russian President and the German Chancellor had agreed to continue the dialogue in order to maintain close co-ordination of actions.
