Two dead men found on yacht

Police said that two dead people were found on the board of a Saudi-flagged yacht off a small island in southeastern Greece.

The bodies of two men were found on the 25-meter (82-foot) yacht, the Ghareeb, off the island of Tilos, northwest of Rhodes in the Dodecanese islands. Local fishermen discovered the boat at about 9:30 a.m. (0630GMT) floating in the bay of Lethra, the Merchant Marine Ministry said.

The ministry said one of the two bodies was found on the boat's deck wrapped in a blanket, while the other was found in a cabin inside the vessel wrapped in a bloodstained sheet. The identities of the two were not known. Police said the incident could have occurred as early as Wednesday, and in nearby Turkish waters.

Port officials traveled to Tilos from Rhodes and Halki on Friday to investigate the incident, while another group of homicide experts was sent to the island from Athens. Police have also informed the anti-terrorism department.
