Konstantin Pulikovksy, Russian President's plenipotentiary in the Far East Federal District said at a Thursday press conference that prospects for further cooperation between Russia and Japan would be touched upon during Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's visit to Khabarovsk (a regional center) scheduled for January 12.
"Better Russian-Japanese relations is the main task of both countries' authorities and society as a whole," the Russian President's plenipotentiary said. "These issues will be discussed at the reception of the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory in the plenipotentiary's office." According to Konstantin Pulikovsky, Russia, Japan, South Korea and North Korea and other countries of the Asian-Pacific region possess vast complementary resources. Joint efforts, combined hi-technologies, resources and cheap labor force is a great development potential. If we manage to put it into practice it will make it possible to create a structure similar to the European Union in the Asian-Pacific region, Mr. Pulikovsky stressed.
