Russia, Great Britain have attained the level of mature and long-term partnership

President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation is sure that Russian-British cooperation has been expanding over the last few years.

Speaking at a reception in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, the Russian leader stressed that our two countries had managed to attain the level of mature and long-term partnership.

According to Putin, present-day bilateral relations make it possible to pool the potentials of both countries for the sake of solving common problems.

Putin voiced hope to the effect that his state visit will go down in the history of Russian-British relations as both a landmark, substantial and significant event. Putin expressed his profound gratitude to the Queen for her hospitality and cordial welcome.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our stay in the United Kingdom, the President went on to say. We managed to see many new things, also getting to know Great Britain's spirit and traditions better, Putin added.

Putin also said that he has amazed with the country's rich and unique culture. In Putin's words, his trip to Scotland was highly interesting; that trip confirmed the growing role of regional cooperation within the framework of those multi-faceted Russian-British relations.

According to Putin, his visit was accompanied by a favorable atmosphere of meetings, talks and receptions; that atmosphere evoked the best feelings, the Russian head of state noted in conclusion.
