On July 28-29 Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will visit North Korea to discuss prospects for the Inter-Korean dialogue, official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko said.
According to him, Moscow comes out for the inter-Korean dialogue "on the conditions of equal security and stable peace on the peninsula".
Developing good-neighbourly relations both with North and South Koreas, Russia "is striving for positive changes on the Korean Peninsula", Yakovenko said. Therefore, Moscow supports all effective actions by Pyongyang and Seoul and comes out for the implementation of the Joint Declaration of North and South Koreas of June 15, 2000, the official spokesman noted.
Igor Ivanov is also to discuss bilateral relations and vital international and regional problems with the North Korean authorities, Yakovenko added.
