Moscow Ensuring Enhanced Security Of Foreign Embassies

Police details have been reinforced and metal obstructions have been put in front of the US embassy in Moscow. Traffic police do not let cars having other than diplomatic numbers in the territory adjacent to the embassy. The Moscow city interior department reported on preventive measures it is to take on the eve of the guest meeting of the Davos World Economic Forum. It is, in part, going to ensure enhanced security of the embassies and diplomatic missions of a number of countries. The department does not report on any specific threats to foreign diplomatic missions. The measures are aimed at preventing possible illegal actions by anti-globalists and other extremists, according to the press service of the Moscow interior department. Although the forum will take place in the city centre, preventive measures will be taken throughout Moscow. No "special measures" are envisaged but the police have engaged additional forces.
