Taleban Executing Opposition Leaders

Taleban reported on an execution of 5 key opposition leaders. Abdul Hanan Hamad, information minister and director of the Bakhtar news agency, said on Saturday morning 5 oppositionists were executed in the Samangan province, the name of one of them was Mohammad Balal. Hamad also confirmed that famous field commander General Abdul Haq and 15 of his supporters who had been caught in the Lugar province were hanged on Saturday morning. Afghanistan's President Burhanuddin Rabbani described Haq's execution as "a tragedy showing the Taleban regime in its true light". Meanwhile a Taleban spokesman confirmed that militia were chasing Djambar Djihi, an American adviser who was a member of Abdul Haq's detachment.
