On Monday Berlin is hosting the opening of the two-day investment forum titled "Southern Russia: Broad Opportunities for Co-operation with Germany." The Russian delegation is headed by the Russian President's plenipotentiary in the Southern federal district Viktor Kazantsev. Besides, the delegation comprises heads of federation members in Southern Russia and over 100 businessmen from the region.
It is the third investment forum arranged by the district. The first one was held in Moscow and the second in Madrid.
As RIA Novosti learned from a high-ranking representative of the Russian delegation, the forum is expected to yield agreements of intent with the German party to bring over €1 billion of investment in Southern Russia's economy.
The forum's agenda also includes speeches by presidents of North Caucasian republics of Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachayevo-Cherkessia, Northern Ossetia, as well as by heads of the Krasnodar territory, the Astrakhan and Rostov regions.
