Manager Maradona

Last Friday, Diego Maradona, the most famous wearer of the Number 10 shirt in Argentina’s footballing history, was awarded the “Best Footballer of the Twentieth Century” Prize by the Association of Football Managers of Argentina, a ceremony at which he was handed a football trainer’s diploma.

El Pibe made a brief speech thanking those present. He is currently recovering from a problem of drug dependence and alcoholism after successful treatment at a clinic in Cuba.

Maradona has already been a manager of two football clubs, Desportivo Mandiyu, in 1994 and Racing Club, Avellaneda, in 1996, supported by coach Carlos Fren in both posts.
