ComScore, which researches online trends, also confirmed December 10, or so-called ‘Green Monday,’ as the busiest Internet shopping day of the year.
Traditionally, the ‘Cyber Monday’ after Thanksgiving weekend signals the electronic holiday spending spree but retailers have noted peak levels on December 10, due to it being the latest day to get orders delivered safely on time.
Green Monday sales grew 33 percent to $881 million this year, comScore reported. Total sales for the first 51 days of the season (November 1 to December 21) grew 19 percent to $26.29 billion.
