OSCE donates USD 1 million for tightening security on Russian-Georgian border

The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is to allocate USD 1 million for strengthening the Chechen, Ingush and Dagestani sections of the border between Russia and Georgia. According to the Georgian border guards service, the money will be used to purchase new communications systems and vehicles, as well as equipment for guards serving in the mountains.

The US government also decided to offer Georgia USD 17 million in aid last week to make improvements to border security.
