UN pays Ukraine for peacekeepers

The United Nations has paid Ukraine 135,939,000 hryvnas (around USD 25,648,000) for the participation of its peacekeepers in operations in Sierra Leone and Lebanon in 2004. As reported to a Rosbalt correspondent by the press office of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, the total transferred by the UN exceeded Ukraine's budget expectations by 4.9%, and represented in conjunction with the previous year's surplus a total of 161,190,300 hryvnas (USD 30,413,000).
