US ambassador to Georgia Richard Miles has called reports about Georgia's possibly giving access to its territory for a military operation against Iran "a joke." "This sounds like a joke," the ambassador told RIA Novosti when commenting on reports by some mass media about it. "I find it hard to imagine such a situation," the ambassador said.
According to Miles, he cannot comment on Washington's intentions with respect to Tehran as he is not an expert on Iran-related issues.
Earlier, Tbilisi denied categorically reports about holding such consultations with the US.
