Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov received Israel's Deputy Immigration Minister Julius Edelstein, who is now visiting Moscow, here today. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, both men discussed various aspects of bilateral relations.
It was noted during the talks that over 1 million Russian-speaking individuals, who are descended from Russia and other post-Soviet republics, now lived in Israel. These people are an important factor of expanded contacts between our two countries.
Saltanov and Edelstein paid serious attention to the current critical Mideastern situation and specific peace prospects. Moscow insists that the concerned parties keep exerting every effort for the sake of finding a political-and-diplomatic solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Saltanov stressed
