Russian and Chinese experts in electronics confirmed in Beijing their mutual interest to develop and build up bilateral cooperation in electronic and information industries. This issue was discussed in Beijing during the third session of the Russian-Chinese working group on scientific-technological cooperation in electronics, which wound up on Wednesday.
The participants in the session determined the priority directions of collaboration in the electronic and information industries for 2003-2004. They include the laser technology, radar equipment, satellite navigation and communications systems, household electric devices, including the development and production of DVD players and cellular phones in Russia, as well as software.
In addition, the two countries plan to cooperate in creating means of control over aircraft flights, including joint participation in tenders on equipping the Chinese airports, and in developing infrared technology.
Russian and Chinese experts in electronics also decided to study the conditions for creating Russian-Chinese joint ventures, including joint research and production centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
