World Russian Forum Ended its Work in Washington

The World Russian Forum, devoted to the theme Russia-USA: On the Way to Political, Economic and Military Cooperation ended its work in Washington on Tuesday.

Political questions, such as military-political cooperation of the two countries at the present-day stage and the two countries' participation in the struggle against global terrorism, and also interaction in the field of science and education were discussed on the second day of the Forum's work.

About 250 politicians, businessmen and scientists from the two countries participated in the Forum. The first day of its work was devoted to economic questions. The participants in the meeting discussed investment in Russia, the achievements in this sphere, and methods to resolve the existing problems.

As RIA Novosti was told by Eduard Lozansky, chairman of American University in Moscow and of media-group Continent USA which are the organisers of the meeting, this forum has long become traditional, has been held since 1981, and its programme includes both discussion of economic and political questions and meetings of scientists, educators and cultural figures, as well as concerts of Russian classical music and arts exhibitions.
