US Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow today expressed the opinion at a plenary session of the World Economic Forum in Moscow that it was time for the USA and Russia to start specific co-operation to counter real threats, rather than bargaining over individual issues. According to him, it is now essential to consider real threats, such as the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, the drugs trade and regional conflicts, as they may become global problems. Vershbow believes that the two countries must find a way to co-operate and form a union based on specific joint action to neutralise threats and not competitive lines or rhetoric.
