Russia and Libya have confirmed their disapproval of any forms of terrorism during the Tuesday negotiations between Igor Ivanov and Abd al-Rahman Mahamed Shalgam, the Foreign Ministers of the two states. The negotiations were held in Moscow within the fifth session of the Russo-Libyan intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical co-operation. According to the Press and Information Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two Ministers acknowledged the importance of "improving the relevant international legislation in order to combat efficiently this highly dangerous global challenge." Speaking about the crisis surrounding the Middle East, Igor Ivanov stressed that the opposing sides, Palestinians and Israelis, should stop the violence and start fulfilling their obligations on settling the conflict under the recommendations of the Mitchell commission.
