Raging US rocker Courtney Love poured whisky over a female musician, hurled the bottle at her head and scarred her with nails in a terrifying early morning attack, a court was told yesterday.
Kristin King made the claim at a hearing in Los Angeles at which the legally embattled Love was ordered to stand trial on a charge of &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/mailbox/22/101/399/14224_gun.html ' target=_blank>assault with a deadly weapon against King.
An "angry, vicious and erratic" Love laid into King on April 25 this year after finding her sleeping on the couch of Love's ex-boyfriend Jim Barber.
Love, 40, stormed through the house before assaulting King with the bottle, hurling a burning candle at her, pinching her breast, pulling her hair and slapping her, King testified, informs Melbourne Herald Sun.
According to the Rolling Stone, the court proceedings began around 11 a.m. with a motion by Love's defense lawyer Howard Weitzman to waive the preliminary hearing, conceding there was enough evidence to reasonably presume a crime had been committed, and move straight to trial. "This process is to put this matter into the public eye and cause my client potential embarrassment," Weitzman added.
The assault trial is the latest in a long line of legal troubles for the former Hole singer.
