Russian Foreign Minister To Visit Japan In January 2002

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will visit Japan in January 2002, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko said Friday. According to him, Japanese Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka and Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi are expected to visit Russia after Ivanov's trip. The 5th meeting of the Russian-Japanese intergovernmental commission on trade and economic issues will be held on Saturday, December 1. Khristenko said that this meeting will not give any surprises. "This is a regular meeting on trade and economic bilateral cooperation," the Vice Premier stressed.
