Security was stepped up at South Africa's request for the remainder of the match.
The Proteas' management called for enforcement of the International Cricket Council's anti-racism rules, which also apply to spectators.
Cricket Australia said on Wednesday any fans caught making racist remarks would be removed from any ground.
