The total strength of the American army, marine corps, navy and air force servicemen to be sent to the Middle East will come up to 35,000, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes the television companies NBC and CNN as saying with reference to sources in the George Bush administration. Within the framework of stepping up the American military presence on the Iraqi borders, a 65,000 men-strong American military contingent already in the region will be increased more than twice within the next few weeks, the TV companies say.

In the middle of February the United States is going to gather a 200,000-strong military group outside the Iraqi borders, report the American e-media.
