West deters Russia from extending terrorist list

The West has blocked Russia's initiative to put such groups as Ahrar ash-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam on a sanction list.

Proposal of the Russian Federation to put these terror groups on a sanction list of the UN Security Council was blocked by Great Britain, Ukraine, the US and France.

It should be noted that Russia provided all the necessary data which proves connection of these groups with the Islamic State.

Enrollment of these groups would take them out of the ceasefire regime in Syria and let them be stricken.

Representative of Great Britain explained why the Western countries had not backed Russia's proposal. He pointed out that this step would be counterproductive for the future political process in Syria.
