Revenues from a charity concert in Washington to go to restoration of poet Pushkin's estate in Boldino

All revenues from a charity concert with the participation of prominent Russian opera singer Mikhail Svetlov held on Thursday evening in Washington will be used for the restoration of poet Alexander Pushkin's estate in Boldino (Nizhny Novgorod Region).

The Pushkins' Boldino estate has played a major role in the great Russian poet's life, and his admirers in the United States consider it important to contribute to the restoration of that famous estate, said Priscilla Roosevelt, US President Franklin Roosevelt's grand niece, president of the society "American Friends of Russia Estates," which functions in the United States.

Svetlov's charity concert held in the Russian ambassador's historical residence in the American capital, was organized with the participation of that society, whose board of directors includes also Suzan Eisenhower, grand-daughter of US President Dwight Eisenhower, and a representative of the famous clan of American multi-millionaires David Rockefeller.

The "American Friends of Russian Estates society" supports projects for the restoration of famous Russian estates in Abramtsevo and Arkhangelskoye near Moscow, as well as Khmelit under Vyazma. Boldino's restoration will be the organization's new project.
