George Bush looking forward to new meeting with Russian President

US President George Bush is looking forward to new meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov told Russian journalists, following his visit to the USA. "US President George Bush told me that he is waiting impatiently for the meeting with Vladimir Putin in Mexico on October 19," Sergei Ivanov said.

According to him, George Bush intends to discuss with Vladimir Putin the problems of stability and bilateral relations and other key issues of modern policy.

American economists asked the defence minister some economic questions, in particular, on reforms in Russia. "They approved this process, especially, the adoption of the land law. According to American interlocutors, they didn't expect it to be so fluent in Russia," Ivanov said.

In addition, the defence minister pointed to his talks on different aspects of cooperation, including private meetings with the CIA and FBI heads and the US President's National Security Advisor. "On the whole, I am satisfied with the outcome of the visit. I managed to discuss everything I had planned both openly and in private," the minister noted.
