USA Will Maintain Contacts With All Anti-Taliban Forces In Afghanistan

C-in-C of the US Central Command General Tommy Franks has announced that America will maintain contacts with all anti-Taliban groups in Afghanistan. While appearing at a Tashkent press conference on Wednesday, Franks said that he had met a few leaders of the Afghan opposition at the Bagram air base to get a clearer understanding of the situation in Afghanistan. According to the general, he was also interested in the issue of co-operation between US special forces taking part in the anti-terrorist operation and anti-Taliban opposition units. Franks said that he had had an open and constructive conversation.
