American Command Regards as Premature the Report on Discovering Chemical Weapons Production Plant in Iraq

The Central Command (CENTCOM) of the US armed forces did not confirm the reports that a plant for the production of chemical weapons was discovered in the town of an-Najaf in southern Iraq.

A representative of the advanced CENTCOM headquarters in Qatar declared they had no information to confirm or refute these reports.

In its turn, the Fox TV company cites the CENTCOM statement to the effect that it regards as premature the reports on discovering the plant for the production of chemical weapons near the town of an-Najaf in southern Iraq.

At the same time, the statement points out that the US military are examining several facilities "of interest to them".

Earlier, Fox circulated the report that a representative of the Pentagon had confirmed the fact that the US troops discovered and occupied a big enterprise for the production of chemical weapons near an-Najaf, 150 km to the south of Baghdad.
