The US, Russian and French co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk group on Nagorno-Karabakh will arrive in Baku on Saturday. American Rudolph Perina, Russian Nikolai Gribkov and French Philippe de Surmain will meet with Azerbaijanian president Geidar Aliyev and foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev. The visitors are also expected in Nagorno-Karabakh, where they will meet the leadership of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh republic, and then head for Armenia. It will be the third visit by international mediators to the area of the Armenian-Georgian conflict. The visit will take place at a time when the two conflicting sides are rather categoric and uncompromising in their statements. Thus, when meeting Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Adrian Severin on October 23, Azerbaijanian president Geidar Aliyev said that the OSCE would not play the crucial role in the conflict's settlement. We should unleash a war to regain control over our occupied territories.
