Latvia panics over Russian submarines and aircraft

On April 4, representatives of the National Forces of Latvia announced the detection of a Russian submarine near the Latvian coast. According to the Latvian military, they were able to establish the class of the submarine as well.

"A submarine of Kilo  class was detected eleven nautical miles from the territorial waters of the country," Latvian officials said.

The Baltic States spot Russian airplanes and vessels near their borders on a regular basis. Not that long ago, Latvian officials said that a Russian IL-72 aircraft was flying over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. A few days ago, the Latvian military panicked having spotted a Russian ship near the sea border.

Officials with the Russian Defense Ministry expressed gratitude to their Latvian counterparts for giving such a massive advertising campaign for the forces of the Russian navy.
