On Sunday night electricity supply was interrupted all over Georgia. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that according to preliminary data accidental disconnection from electricity supply occurred at the Inguri hydroelectric station at 18:30 Moscow time. Metro was stopped in Tbilisi, and the broadcasting on a majority of TV and radio channels was discontinued. Telephone communication is operating with faults. Meanwhile, alarming rumours of an exchange of fire which had allegedly taken place at the Krtsanisi state residence and of the murder of former Prosecutor-General Guiya Meparishvili began to spread in Tbilisi whose residents did not yet come round after the recent events which caused the government's resignation. As the RIA Novosti correspondent reports, the first rumour was refuted by the officer-on-duty of the Ministry of the Interior. As for Meparishvili, the journalists managed to contact by telephone his retinue and to ascertain that everything was all right with him and that he was staying at home.
