Tajikistan Intends To Contribute In Combating Terrorism

Tajikistan is part of the anti-terrorist coalition and will make a reasonable contribution to the fight against it, Talbak Nazarov, Tajikistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced. According to him, Tajikistan could allow its air space to be used by American aircraft "if the situation in Afghanistan demanded it." Regarding the use of Tajikistan military air bases for the anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan, the minister stated, that Tajikistan would allow its air bases to be used to deliver humanitarian aid to the Afghan population. The ministry of defence did not confirm earlier western reports that American military experts had arrived in Tajikistan.
