Seven people died and nine were wounded when a mini-bus fell into an abyss when coming out of the tunnel at the pass connecting Georgia's western and eastern parts.
The Georgian Minister of Interior Affairs reported that at day-break on Friday a mini-bus and a LAZ bus collided. The blow was so strong that it sent the mini-bus into the abyss.
The rescuers of the emergency situations and civil defence department who arrived at the site raised the wounded and the dead from the abyss.
The wounded were taken to hospital, one of them in a critical state.
Investigation is being conducted on the evidence of the accident.
