Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) made a decision toresume their activities in Ingushetia despite the fact that head of theorganization's mission in Dagestan Arjan Erkel, who was kidnapped on August12 in Makhachkala, has still not been found. According to the foundation'spress release, this decision was made for the sake of thousands of peopleliving in the republic, who have not been receiving the needed humanitarianaid for nearly a month owing to the suspension of the organization'sactivities.Doctors Without Borders provide required medicines and first aid materialsto over 30 hospitals and clinics located in Ingushetia. With the help ofmedical centers and mobile clinics the international organization providesconsultations for refugees and local inhabitants. In Ingushetia DoctorsWithout Borders offer pediatric consultations, supply fresh water,implement restoration and sanitary operations in locations where refugeesare living as well as provide necessities and tents.The organization suspended its projects in Chechnya after Nina Davidovich,head of Druzhba, a Russian non-governmental organization, had beenkidnapped. And the entire activity of the foundation in the North Caucasuscame to a complete halt after volunteer Arjan Erkel had been kidnapped. Theorganization's projects in Dagestan and Chechnya are still suspended onaccount of these kidnappings.
